In This Episode
So here we are in the middle of summer and it’s prime time for summer vacations. Are you excited about your upcoming vacation? Unfortunately, too many business owners either aren’t looking forward to their upcoming vacation or they don’t have one planned. It doesn’t have to be this way.
If you want to see a small business owner smile, just ask them to tell you about the last vacation they took. Usually the response we get is something along the lines of “I can’t remember the last vacation I took” or “It’s been several years.” Even if they’ve gone on one recently, we’ll ask them if they enjoyed the vacation. Once in a while they did but too often it was just a different location to be working as they were constantly responding to or interrupted by phone calls, texts, and emails. It can get so bad that many owners will encourage their families to go on vacation without them so they can stay behind and get “caught up” on work or not feel guilty about working so late.
During the show today we talked about some of the things we’ve had to personally learn when it comes to taking a vacation as well as what many of our clients have found helpful. Believe it or not, learning to take a vacation is a skill when you’re a business owner. If you’re trying to figure out how to take a vacation then today’s show is for you!
